Many visitors, like David Krabbe and Andreas Kammerer, have been enchanted by the degustación menu, describing it as nothing short of sublime. Each course reveals a carefully curated selection packed with subtleties, and guests often find themselves enamored with the restaurant's distinct Japanese influences. As one reviewer put it, "each plate was a revelation," highlighting the creativity and thoughtfulness poured into every dish.
While Paprica's ambition to reach for the stars is clear, some dishes have drawn mixed reviews. A customer noted the ceviche, also referred to as “Tiradito,” as a delightful but not groundbreaking experience. Similarly, feedback on meat textures offered insight into areas for improvement. However, the overwhelming praise for the degustación menu reaffirms that the kitchen can indeed produce extraordinary meals that are well-worth the visit.
Service here is as commendable as the food. The staff is attentive and approachable, seamlessly navigating the needs of diners while providing knowledgeable wine recommendations. Customer Jan Klaas appreciated the excellent vegetarian options, emphasizing the restaurant's adaptability to various dietary preferences—something that is often hard to find in Spain.

“ A “want to be Michelin” restaurant, which I would have rated higher, if I had compared it to a regular restaurant. However, compared to a true 1 * Michelin, it is average. On the other hand, prices are very affordable (for a wanna be Michelin). We ordered a Ceviche, which was actually a “Tiradito” and was pretty good, though now wow. Our veal was much tougher than expected. especially after the long introduction. Our rice was too salty, too sour and the rabbit chewy. ”
“ We were there during San Froilán. We both had the degustación menu, which was sublime. It is difficult to select which of the many courses was the best. Their food is such a harmonious blend of subtle flavors and textures, using local ingredients of the highest quality. Each plate was a revelation. Many of the dishes showed a Japanese influence. The service was excellent, attentive and well paced. Our server was kindly very patient with my weak Spanish, and also communicated some in English. 100% recommended for a memorable meal. ”
“ Simply stunning. We had the tasting menu and I would highly recommend to go for it. ”
“ Recently discovered this place in Lugo. Really nice spot for elevated Spanish/Galician cuisine in Lugo. Good vegetarian options as well, something that is quite rare in Spain. Great recommendations regarding the wines as well by the staff. Will definitely return. ”
“ I’m having trouble writing a description of this transcendent meal in English let alone my broken Spanish. Reserve a table yourself and decide if the staff of Paprica are witches, angels, sorcerers, mambos, or generous practitioners of culinary hedonism and hospitality. Either way you will not be disappointed. We can’t thank you enough. ”
“ Very nice dining experience. The staffs are very nice and friendly. The girl explained the menu and how the food was cooked and seasoned in English. My favourite is the final dessert! ”
“ Fabulous food, very attentive service and good atmosphere. Easily the best place I've eaten in Spain. Left full and very, very happy. The desert was divine. ”
